The Planet
The Planet platform was born out of a real and urgent need. Despite growing visibility for female DJs and increasing talk of inclusivity in the underground electronic music scene, FLINTA* artists remain structurally underrepresented. The Planet's response to that is gayforward: 100% FLINTA lineups, art-installations and performances are the foundation.
From 2023 to 2025 I worked alongside as production & performance facilitation on the night and supporting production, promotion, bookings and funding work in between: graphic design, PR, distribution, funding applications, bookings and community building.
Together Emma and I built safety into every night. Awareness teams are present on the dancefloor, trained in social safety, consent and supporting anyone who needs it. The music ranges from Neo Perreo and Hyperpop to Techno, Vogue and Latincore. Genres that didn't just emerge from queer communities, they were shaped by them. The dancefloor becomes a place of reclaiming, celebration and resistance.
Nights took place at OT301, RadioRadio, Levenslang and now TillaTec, with special collaborations at Milkshake Festival, Tropikali Festival and Homomonument. When Mark van Gogh of POING came on board as partner, I passed the wheel to focus on my intimacy coordination work for television.
What stayed with me most was watching our audience grow and shift over time. Familiar faces returning, new ones finding their way in. Beautiful people I hadn't crossed paths with through nightlife culture. The Planet definitely has their own gravity.
